Yesterday morning around 8:00 a.m. police responded to a collision on Bay Line near Bearline Road.
A 77-year-old Dover Township woman struck a deer. The woman was not injured. Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $5000.
Last night around 9:00 p.m. police responded to a collision on Charing Cross Road in Raleigh Township. A 24-year-old Blenheim woman struck a deer. The woman was not injured. Damage to her vehicle was estimated at $3000.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind motorists that wild animals are unpredictable. Use extra caution when driving during dusk or dawn, when most wildlife collisions occur.
Scan the road from shoulder to shoulder and use your high beams at night. Watch your speed and should you see an animal, please remember that swearing to avoid hitting them my result in a more serious collision.
