Two car collision

On April 21, 2014 at 1:45 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a two-vehicle collision that occurred in the intersection of Speedvale Avenue West at Edinburgh Road North. It is alleged that a 1998 Toyota being operated by 28-year-old Guelph woman was travelling eastbound on Speedvale. A 2002 Ford being operated by a 21-year-old Guelph woman that was travelling westbound on Speedvale attempted to turn left onto Edinburgh and was struck by the Toyota. The Toyota then struck a traffic light standard on the southeast corner of the intersection, causing the standard to be severed from its base.

Both vehicles were demolished. The 28-year-old Guelph woman was transported to the Guelph General Hospital with minor injuries and the 21-year-old female was treated at the scene by EMS.
The 21-year-old was charged with turn- not in safety contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
