On January 11, 2015 at 4:05 p.m. the Guelph Police Traffic Division responded to a personal injury collision at Paisley Road and Elmira Road South. It is alleged that a Guelph male operating a red Hyundai van disobeyed a red traffic signal on Elmira and was struck by a gray Hyundai travelling on Paisley. The driver and passenger in the gray Hyundai were transported to the Guelph General Hospital by Guelph Wellington EMS for non-life threatening injuries. Two female children in the Hyundai van were not injured. The 28-year-old male driver was subsequently charged with disobeying a red light. Both vehicles were demolished resulting in approximately $16,000 damage.
