Two Arrested After Trying To Steal Bicycles In Front Of Police

Two suspicious males were observed in the parking lot of the Tannery building at 4:45 p.m. on July 11, 2016 by police officers. The males then attended the area of the bicycle racks in the parking lot. The one male acted as a look out while the other male obtained bolt cutters from his back pack. The male then started to use the bolt cutters to cut a lock off of one of the bicycles parked in the rack. Police approached the subjects and the male with the bolt cutters fled on foot. The male acting as the lookout was arrested at the scene. The male that fled on foot was arrested after a short foot pursuit at Charles St and Francis St in the City of Kitchener. A 23 year old male and a 20 year old male both from Kitchener, have been held for bail hearings on the charges of attempt theft, possession of Break and Enter tools and breaching their probation orders.
