Trevor James DOERING – Drunk Driving

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) – On Sunday June 26, 2016, shortly after 1 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers on general patrol observed a pickup truck pull into a residential laneway on Line 52 North of Rostock. The male driver was unsteady on his feet when exiting the vehicle. Officers spoke with the male and a determination was made that he was impaired. The male was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville, where he failed two Intoxilyzer breath tests.

23-year-old Trevor James DOERING of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

Driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol).

Driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood.

He has also been charged with the following Highway Traffic Act of Ontario offence:

Novice driver Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) above zero

He is scheduled to appear at the Stratford Court of Justice on Monday July 25, 2016, to answer to these charges. He was issued an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.

With all the messaging and examples of how dangerous impaired driving is, it is unacceptable that the act still happens. The OPP will continue their patrols and regular RIDE programs to stop these drivers, and maintain safe roadways in our communities. The public is encouraged to report impaired and erratic drivers.
