(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) – On January 23, 2017 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while conducting a R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program on Hwy. 10 in Berkeley, in the Township of Chatsworth, officers had observed a grey van travelling southbound on Hwy. 10 turn into a private driveway, park, and turn off the headlights.
Approximately 25 minutes later, police received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at a residence on Hwy. 10. Police attended the address and found it to be the same location where they had seen the grey van pull into and park. The van, a grey 2007 Chevrolet, was found unoccupied. They searched the area and found an intoxicated male on the property who was unable to provide an explanation as to why he was there.
The suspect was arrested for Trespassing at Night and transported to the Markdale OPP Detachment for processing. The vehicle was towed.
