(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On Tuesday June 4, 2013 at about 1:30am, a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police officer (OPP) was conducting radar enforcement on Wellington County Road 109 west of Arthur. The officer observed a 2013 Kia travelling well above the posted speed limit. Police clocked the vehicle on radar at 150km/h in an 80km/h zone.
Police furthered the investigation and suspected Methamphetamine was located.
Travis HEWITSON, age 22 of Wellington North Township has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. His driver’s licence has been suspended and vehicle seized for a period of 7 days as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on August 21, 2013 to answer to this charge.
He is also charged Possession of Methamphetamine under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court to answer to this charge on July 30, 2013.
