Council meet early last night to discuss development fees for North Huron. This meeting preceded the regular council meeting that was scheduled to start at 7:30. Reeve Neil Vincent asked for public gallery questions at the end of this development charges meeting. One lady stood up and attempted to ask a question about the trailer park. Neil Vincent sternly advised the citizen that this discussion was about development fees and this was the wrong meeting to be discussing the trailer park. She promptly left the meeting as she was under the impression she was at the wrong meeting. Neil Vincent made no attempt to inform the citizen that the meeting she wanted actually was going to start in a few minutes. He just let her leave.
Bill Knott asked one brief question during the public gallery portion of the meeting, regarding procedure. When Bill Knott queried if he could ask another question, Neil Vincent quickly and sternly said NO. Mr. Knott made it clear that the question was on a different topic. Neil Vincent still refused Mr. Knott’s right to speak. Mr. Knott did not have the opportunity to speak on behalf of the trailer park people, as he was silenced by our current Reeve before he could get his second question out.
Below is the by-law Mr. Knott queried about.
