Copies of the RFP document regarding the sale of the Wingham Trailer
park are available at Town Hall.
Council has repeatedly stated the park was not for sale. When
they were confronted by a hostile public, they finally admitted the
park was for sale. Council still tried to deny the park was
for sale after that admission. This is a result of Bernie
Bailey introducing two motions, both to sell the park, both
passed.
Members of council still tried to deny the park was for sale, and
claimed they were going to consider other options. WFP has
always claimed the park was for sale, as that is what is in the
minutes of meetings. WFP has been accused of twisting the truth and
lying about the trailer park situation. These acusations were
an attempt to discredit and discourage WFP supporters.
The RFP package clearly states “You
are invited to submit your Proposal to purchase the property
commonly referred to as the Wingham Trailer Park.”
The information package does not mention any other options.
Alma Conn was on the radio and stated that other options such as
leasing etc would be considered. Other members of council also
publicly stated other options would be considered.
