Traffic Stop Leads To Three Arrests

On March 29, 2016 at 12:08 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Dawson Road. Police investigation found that the male driver was breaching a court imposed condition and he was arrested. Further investigation led to the arrest of the male and female passengers as well as the discovery of over 100 grams of Marihuana and a knife.

A 40-year-old Brussels male has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation.

A 28-year-old Stratford female has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, weapons dangerous and three counts of breach of probation.

A 20-year-old Stratford male has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, weapons dangerous, three counts of breach of recognizance and four counts of breach of probation.

All three were held in custody pending a bail hearing on March 29, 2016.

Property damage

On March 28, 2016 at 10:51 a.m., the Guelph Police went to an apartment building on Willow Road for the report of property damage. Sometime over the weekend, the laundry room was entered and washing machines were damaged.

Theft from cars

On March 28, 2016 the Guelph Police received multiple reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Ontario Street, Marksam Road, Brock Street, Bond Court, Cranberry Court, two on Carolyn Court, two on Macdonell Street and several on Elderberry Court.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
