On July 27, 2015 at 2:25 p.m. Police stopped a vehicle on Wilson Street and discovered that a passenger in the vehicle was holding an infant on their lap who was in an infant seat, and the infant seat was not secured in the vehicle. There were five other children in the vehicle under the age of 10 who were properly secured.
Further investigation by the police resulted in the driver, and two adult passengers being charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. They all have a court date of September 22, 2015.
Numerous Highway Traffic Offences were also laid against the driver and other passengers in the vehicle.
Disturbance at the Guelph General Hospital
On July 27, 2015 at 7:45 p.m. Police were called to the Guelph General Hospital, where there was a report of a male causing a disturbance. The male was eventually arrested for breach of the peace and failing to leave when directed under the Trespass to Property Act.
The male was transported to the Police station, where he became assaultive towards Police. The 38 year old Guelph male was charged with three counts of assault police (three officers assaulted), in addition to the fail to leave when directed. This male has a September 1, 2015 court date. Injuries to the officers were not serious in nature.
Youth Arrested
On July 28, 2015 at 12:40 a.m. Police attended to a residence on Stone Road, where there was a report of an assault. Investigation lead to a 16 year old male being arrested and charged with the following: Assault, Mischief under $5000, Theft under $5000, two counts of breaching his probation and three counts of breaching his order of recognizance. This male was held for a bail hearing. The victim in this incident did not receive any serious injuries.
