(Ashfield Colborne Wawanosh, ON) At approximately 2:00 am on January 25, 2010 a Huron OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Lucknow Line to check the sobriety of the driver. The driver provided valid identification and a check of his background revealed that he was on release conditions from a previous charge in another jurisdiction. One of the conditions was a curfew and the male was found to be breaching that condition by being out. The driver was then arrested for Breach of Recognizance. A search of the male and his vehicle incident to arrest revealed that he was also in the possession of a controlled substance.
As a result of the investigation, a 31 year old Kitchener man is being held in police custody pending a bail hearing on January 25, 2010 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich. He is facing one count of Breach Recognizance and one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marihuana.
