Traffic stop leads to arrest

While on general patrol in the town of Wallaceburg at approximately 1:15 a.m. this morning a member of the Community Patrol Division observed a vehicle travelling on McNaughton Avenue with a burnt out headlight. The officer proceeded to conduct a traffic stop with the vehicle. Through investigation the officer ascertained that the driver falsely identified himself and was presently on probation with a condition not to operate a motor vehicle. As a result the driver was arrested and charged with Obstruct Police, Breach of Probation, seven (7) separate Highway Traffic Act offences as well as one (1) Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act offence. The driver who is a 24 year old Chatham man was held for bail.
