Yesterday, members of the Community Patrol Branch conducted traffic enforcement through the Municipality, specifically in the Wallaceburg, Kent Bridge, Mitchell’s Bay and Fairview Line area. A total of 30 tickets were issued for various offences relating to speeding, driver’s licence infractions, insurance violations and using hand held electronic devices.
Members of the Traffic Unit also conducted a speed enforcement blitz at two locations in Chatham. In two hours, officers issued 19 tickets on St. Clair Street near Paxton Drive. In a little over an hour, 20 tickets were issued on Charing Cross Road near Devon Road.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service reminds motorists to obey the speed limit. Speed is almost always a significant factor in collisions with serious and fatal injuries. Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Make it a priority when you drive.
