On Monday September 24, 2012, members of the Guelph Police Service Traffic Division participated in a School Bus Safety Initiative located at Woodlawn Road East and Windermere
Court, Guelph. This targeted enforcement blitz was in response to numerous complaints that were received from local residents.
There were no school bus-related charges laid at this time; however, two drivers were charged for using hand held communication devices while operating their motor vehicles, and one driver was charged under the Smoke Free Ontario Act for smoking a cigarette within her motor vehicle while two children under the age of 16 were present.
