(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers including members from the Huron OPP Property Crimes Unit are investigating the recent theft of a Massey Ferguson Tractor and a Kubota zero-turn riding lawn mower stolen from Hyde Brother’s Farm Equipment located on London Road and Rodgerville Road.
Police believe the theft took place sometime overnight between 9:00 p.m. on May 31st and 8:00 a.m. on June 1st, 2016. Those responsible entered into the fenced in property and once inside they proceeded to cut a hole in the chain link fence. The suspect(s) were able to externally power up the vehicles and after doing so they drove them out through the hole in the fence.
Employees were able to recover another Kubota tractor that had been moved out of the yard. It was found about a kilometer away from the business.
The two stolen machines are described as follows:
A red, 2016 Massey Ferguson Tractor/Loader/Backhoe model GC1720 with a mower deck. This machine is valued at $25,000.
An orange, 2010, Kubota Zero-turn lawn tractor model ZD323 with a 60” deck. This unit is valued at $10,000.
