(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Friday September 24, 2010 around 1:30 p.m. Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to Road 138 between Line 6 and Perth Line 8 where a tractor with an attached manure tank had left the roadway and rolled in the ditch.
Information obtained indicated that the north bound tractor drove too close to the right shoulder of the road when the rear wheels of the machine ended up leaving the roadway and into the ditch. This pulled the entire tractor into the 1.5 meter deep ditch causing the unit to roll on its side. The driver a 45 year old male from the Lucan area was transported to the St. Marys Hospital where he was treated and released. The driver was charged with careless driving.
There was no significant spill of manure. Heavy towing equipment was required to upright and remove the tractor from the ditch.
