It is with great sadness the Township of North Huron announce the passing of Fire Chief, John Black.
Chief Black joined the municipality in 2009 and was instrumental in establishing the Fire Department of North Huron. John announced late last week that he would be taking a medical leave of absence while he battled cancer.
John was a professional with a profound sense of community. We were very fortunate to have him as the Fire Chief in North Huron. John was a member of our family and a friend to those he worked with. He will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with John’s family at this time
