Three Vehicles Ransacked

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) Perth County OPP officers in Mitchell were contacted by three residents reporting thefts from their parked motor vehicles. The thefts occurred sometime between 10 p.m. on Thursday September 13, 2012 and 7 a.m. Friday September 14, 2012 from vehicles that were parked on driveways along Arthur St and Baier Ct. The three unlocked vehicles had their interiors ransacked and small valuable items were removed. A wedding ring, cheque books, GPS unit, MP3 player and change was taken from the vehicles. A number of items were recovered as they were tossed in a hedge and flower beds near the victims vehicles.

The Perth County OPP is reminding citizens to lock their vehicles to avoid these opportunistic thefts. Anyone observing suspicious late night activity in their neighbourhood is urged to obtain a description of the person or vehicle and to contact the police immediately.
