Three Vehicle Collision Sends Octogenarians To Hospital

At approximately 4:15 pm, on July 18, Waterloo Regional Police responded to a three car collision on Ottawa Street South near the intersection of Valley View Road, Kitchener. All three vehicles had been travelling north along Ottawa Street. Traffic slowed ahead and a 27 year old Kitchener woman wasnt able to bring her vehicle to a stop and struck the vehicle in front of her, sending that vehicle into the van in front. An 80 year old male and an 82 year old female, both from Kitchener were transported to St. Marys Hospital with non life threatening injuries. They are both expected to make a full recovery. The driver of the van was not injured in the collision. A 27 year old Kitchener woman has been charged with Careless Driving. Witnesses are asked to contact Collision Investigators in the Traffic Branch.
