Three Police Cars Damaged By 72 Year Old Aggressive Driver

On Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 7:22 p.m., police responded to the area of Proudfoot Lane and Oxford Street West in relation to a female who was trespassing on the property of one of the nearby apartment buildings.

Police located the lady in a vehicle parked on the property, and attempted to speak with her at that time. Upon engaging with her, she proceeded to drive her vehicle into a cruiser before driving away. Officers engaged the female on two other occasions before she lost control of her vehicle and was arrested.

Neither the lady nor the officers suffered any injuries.

As a result of this incident, two marked police cruisers and one unmarked police vehicle were damaged.

Helen Nemeth, (72) of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, contrary to section 249(1)(a); and flight from police, contrary to section 249.1(1), both of the Criminal Code of Canada. Helen Nemeth had a court appearance today, Thursday, February 5, 2015.
