Three Gas Drive Offs – One With Methamphetamine Arrested – Name Released

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On February 25, 2018, Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) were investigating three linked gas drive-offs. The first occurred February 22, 2018 in the Township of Middlesex Centre, the second on February 14, 2018 in Arthur and the third on February 25, 2018 in Fergus. The suspect’s description and a stolen licence plate linked each theft-of-gas.

The suspect was located on Highway 6, north of Guelph on February 25, 2018, at approximately 3:30 p.m. He was arrested and found to be in the possession of methamphetamine.

31-year-old Robert William James ROLFE of Arthur has been charged with three counts of Theft Under $5000.00 and one count of Possession of Methamphetamine, contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on April 6, 2018.
