Three Face Charges After Traffic Stop

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Three males are facing drug possession charges following a traffic stop on October 12, 2013. At approximately 12:25 p.m. a green Dodge Ram was observed travelling northbound on Base Line at 30 km/h over the posted 80 km/h limit. Upon speaking with the vehicle occupants the officer noticed there was open alcohol inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle was completed and a small quantity of marihuana was located. All three males were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

The driver, Richard LININGTON, 48, from Goderich has been charged with Speeding and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cannabis Marihuana) contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He has a court appearance scheduled for December 16, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Also charged is Peter FIELDER, 48, from Central Huron. He has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cannabis Marihuana) contrary to section 4 (1) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Having Liquor in an Open Container other than Licensed Premise. He has a court appearance scheduled for December 16, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

And, Norman KNAPP, 47, from Goderich is facing a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cannabis Marihuana) contrary to section 4 (1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He has a court appearance scheduled for December 16, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
