Three Drivers Lose Licence For Three Days Over the Weekend

(Huron county, ON) Over the weekend, three drivers lost their driving privileges after blowing “warns” on the roadside Alcotest. One driver was stopped after failing to stop for a stop sign, a second driver was stopped because of speeding and the third driver was stopped for a routine sobriety check.

That combination of alcohol and the dangerous driving actions had the potential for disaster.

Drivers are being reminded that the former 12 hour suspension is now gone. Drivers who have their licences suspended for blowing a “warn” on a roadside Alcotest now have to obtain a new licence at MTO following the three day suspension. There is a reinstatement fee that goes along with that process.

Tolerance for motorists who drink and drive is becoming less and less. Drivers need to get the message that drinking and driving is not acceptable. There are many other options available for someone who has consumed too much alcohol such as calling a taxi or riding with a sober friend.

Don’t risk the costs associated with drinking and driving. It’s not worth it.
