At approximately 2:45 p.m. a male entered Kitchener City Hall and made threats. Police responded and city hall was placed in a lock down. At that time it was believed the male had left the building but as a precaution the canine unit assisted in a thorough search. During this time the male was located a short distance away by an off duty police officer. The suspect has been arrested for uttering threats and the investigation is continuing. We would like to thank our community partners and local businesses for their assistance in bringing this incident to a timely conclusion.
