Thief Leaves Note Behind – Next Time Lock Your Car

(GODERICH, ON) – Thefts from unlocked vehicles are still a common crime. However, a thief leaving a note behind with some blunt advice may be a first in Huron County. An Eldon Street resident reported to police on July 28, 2013 that his vehicle had been entered sometime overnight. The vehicle had been parked in the driveway. The thief stole a Garmin Nuvi 40LM GPS system, a tape measure, vice grips and a silver and black air pressure gauge.

The interesting part is not what was taken rather what was left behind. The nervy thief left behind on the dash a hand written note stating, Next time lock your car”.
