Thefts From Vehicles Continue

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON)The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to receive reports of property taken from vehicles.

On July 2, 2013 at 10:53 am, a wallet was reported stolen overnight from a vehicle in the 400 block of Broadway Street in Kincardine.
On July 2, 2013 at 10:42 am, a Black Garmin Nuvi 1490T GPS valued at $250 was reported stolen overnight from a vehicle along Highland Crescent in Carrick Township.
On July 2, 2013 at 10:20 am, a Black Sony Nav U GPS with charger was reported stolen overnight from a vehicle along Highland Crescent in Carrick Township.

The South Bruce OPP is reminding motorists of some tips from the Lock It or Lose It initiative to help prevent further thefts of property from vehicles:

Always roll up the vehicle windows, lock the door and pocket the key

If you have a garage, use it. Lock the door and the vehicle

Always park in a well-lit area

Never leave objects or packages in in plain view

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122.
