Thefts From Unlocked Cars

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) Huron County OPP members were busy over the weekend investigating thefts from unlocked vehicles.

Sometime between 10:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2011 an unlocked car parked on Fulton Street in Central Huron was entered. The owner reports a purple LG cell phone valued at $80 and a children’s toy valued at $40 were stolen.

An unlocked parked vehicle on Osborne Street in Central Huron was entered overnight on December 9, 2011. The owner reported a theft of approximately $400 in cash from the car.

Another owner left his car unlocked between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. on December 10, 2011 and returned to find his wallet, cell phone and Oakley sunglasses stolen. This theft took place on Joseph Street in Central Huron.

A fourth theft from an unlocked motor vehicle took place on Queen Street in Central Huron. This theft is believed to have taken place overnight on Saturday, December 10, 2011. The owner reports the thief took Christmas presents valued at approximately $60.

Please don’t make your vehicle a target for a thief. Remove your valuables and secure your vehicle.
