(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Wednesday August 17, 2016, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were dispatched to two reported thefts from equipment dealers located along Hwy 23 north of Listowel.
Investigation revealed that around 2:30 a.m., unknown culprit(s) entered the yard of Country Line Equipment LTD and stole a white 18 foot fully enclosed Weber trailer. The trailer contained nine circulating fans used for residential ventilation. The culprit(s) then towed the trailer onto the neighbouring property of Midwestern Equipment and loaded 2016 Orange Kubota tractor model BX2670-1, and a 2016 orange Kubota model ZD1211-60 (zero turn 60” 25 HP tractor) into the trailer. They departed in an unknown direction of travel.
Shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday August 17, 2016, the Brant County OPP was advised of an abandoned enclosed trailer in the middle of a small side road east of Brantford. The trailer which was completely empty was identified as the stolen trailer from Listowel.
The approximate value of the outstanding stolen property is $29,000.
The Perth County OPP requests anyone who may have observed a vehicle towing an 18 foot enclosed trailer in the area of the thefts, or anywhere between Listowel and Brantford between 3 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Wednesday August 17th, to contact them.
