Monday night while shopping at the south Barrie Walmart a female left her purse unattended in a shopping cart. At that time a 17 year old female grabbed the purse and ran from the store. The victim noticed the theft and gave chase alerting staff and other customers who also chased the youth into the parking lot. The youth was apprehended and held for the police. She was charged with theft and released. Police wish to remind shoppers never to leave purses and handbags unattended while shopping.
