On Tuesday, May 10, 2016 just before 5:00 p.m., a man and woman entered No Frills, located at 165 Wellington Street, West, in the City of Barrie.

The suspects had been observed placing several items into their shopping cart, as well as concealing several items underneath a jacket in the cart, and into a re-usable shopping bag carried by the female.

The suspects paid for the visible items in the cart, although never made any attempt to pay for he concealed items. Upon exiting the store they were stopped and arrested by loss prevention, although the female quickly fled from custody.

The male, a 27-year-old Angus resident was arrested upon police arrival and charged with theft under $5,000. As a result of further outstanding charges he was transported to the Barrie police station and held for bail.

The female suspect was identified and police will be seeking a warrant for her arrest.
