Police responded to report of a Theft in progress at a North end Barrie department store. An unknown 32 year old female was observed removing security tags from store items and placing them into a cart. In all over $ 1200 of merchandise was selected including a 42 flat screen television set. The female exited the store pushing the cart making no attempt to pay for any of the items. Store security confronted and arrested the female for theft. A foot chase ensued and the female was arrested in an adjacent Mall property by Police. She faces a morning bail hearing charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
