Theft Of Scrap Copper

(TOWN OF ERIN ON) – On January 2, 2018 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received reports of a theft of scrap copper from a business on Sideroad 17, Town of Erin.

Investigation revealed that unknown suspects operating a pickup truck entered the yard of the business on December 31, 2017 at approximately 1:40 p.m. Three males emptied an open bin filled with scrap copper into the pickup truck. This took approximately ten minutes. The suspects then left thru the main gate.

The OPP are asking for assistance in identifying the vehicle involved. The vehicle is possibly a white Ford pickup truck older than 2009 with racing stripes on the hood and the tailgate. The truck had wooden sides going up the bed of the truck to hold in the scrap metal. Cab lights are on the roof.

The copper is described as tubing for plumbing and copper wire.
