Theft Of Motor Vehicle – K9 Tracks Down Suspects

On March 20, 2015 in the early morning hours, police responded to a reported stolen vehicle that was observed driving in the area of Homer Watson Blvd and Highway 7/8 in the city of Kitchener. Waterloo Regional Police and Ontario Provincial Police collaborated in searching the area and located the vehicle along Courtland Ave E, in the city of Kitchener. A traffic stop was attempted where the vehicle failed to stop in attempts to evade police. The vehicle was located a short time later, unoccupied on Connaught St. WRPS and OPP coordinated with the Guelph Police Service Canine unit and located the suspects. As a result of the concerted effort among the police services, a 31 year old male and 24 year old female, both of Kitchener, were arrested on charges related to the stolen vehicle and were held for bail hearing.
