Theft Of Hundreds Of Apple Tree Saplings Unfounded

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – On May 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was contacted by the owner of the apple tree saplings to report that the theft is unfounded. The saplings had been harvested and delivered for sale by staff.

Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of several hundred apple tree saplings from farm land located on the 7th Line, south of Highway 26, in the Municipality of Meaford. They are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for the theft.

On May 6, 2018, Grey County OPP received a call from the victim reporting that sometime between 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 4th and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 6th, approximately 500 apple tree saplings were stolen by unknown person(s). The total value of the stolen saplings was estimated at $4000.
