(CHESLEY, ON) – On June 7, 2015 at 11:36 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a vehicle that was parked in a 2nd Avenue south west driveway in Chesley. Sometime between 10:00 p.m. on June 6, 2015 and 8:30 a.m. on June 7, 2015, the vehicle was entered and 2 light weight jackets were taken.
The South Bruce OPP recommends that vehicle owners/operators consider the Lock it or Lose it theft prevention tips to help protect their property:
Always roll up your vehicle’s windows, lock the door and pocket the key
If you have a garage, use it. Lock the door and the vehicle
Always park in a well-lit area
Never leave valuable objects in plain view.
Theft is a crime of opportunity that you can help control; Lock it or Lose it.
Suspicious vehicles and suspicious people should be reported to police as soon as possible so that an officer can investigate.
