Theft From Unlocked Garage

(PERTH EAST, ON) – The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a theft from within the Township of Perth East.

During the overnight night hours of April 20, 2018, an unlocked garage was entered at a residential property on Perth Line 46. While inside, thieves removed a set of keys, documents, and personal effects from an unlocked motor vehicle before leaving the area.

The incident serves as yet another reminder to all that unlocked doors present opportunity to criminals. Make a habit of securely locking all entry points to your home and garage, and remember to lock the entrance from your garage to your residence.

The matter remains under investigation, and anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area at that time is asked to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
