(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Tuesday July 08, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers in Listowel were dispatched to the McDonald’s restaurant on Wallace Ave. North, to investigate a reported theft.
Investigation revealed that sometime around 3:25 a.m., a male wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap entered onto the McDonald’s restaurant property riding a bicycle. The male dropped the bike and walked towards the drive thru area where he proceeded to break into the donation box located at the drive thru window. The box was forced open and an undetermined amount of money was removed. The male left the scene riding his bicycle.
The money that had been located in the coin box would have been used to support Ronald McDonald House Charities. This supports charities in communities including Ronald McDonald Houses.
The Perth County OPP would like to hear from anyone with information about this theft, or from anyone who may have observed someone on a bicycle in Listowel between 3 – 4 a.m. on Tuesday July 08, 2014.
