At approximately 1821hrs yesterday afternoon police received a complaint of a stolen vehicle, stolen from Seventh Street in Chatham. A short time later a member of the community patrol division located the vehicle travelling west bound on Talbot Street in Blenheim. A traffic stop was initiated by the officer who confirmed the vehicle was in fact the vehicle reported stolen from Chatham. As a result the driver a 17 year old female and the passenger a 16 year old female from Blenheim were arrested and charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00. The driver is being held in police custody pending a bail hearing. The passenger has been released with a future court date.
