Theft and Breach of Probation

Date: Monday, January 13, 2014 – 1:00pm
On the 13th of January 2014, a male was in a north end grocery store shopping for a late lunch. The male retrived a roasted chicken and Red bull at which time he exited the store making no attempts to pay. A store security observed the event take place and approached the male in the parking lot in regards to apprehending him for the theft. The male evaded apprehension and began running through the lot on foot.

The security guard hailed down a taxi and requested assistance in following the male suspect. Security while in the cab contacted police and updated them as to the suspect males whereabouts. Police immediately attended the area and observed the male with his chicken and red bull. Once observing the police, the male dropped the items and continued to run in hopes of evading an arrest. Police pursued the male on foot and arrested him a short distance away from the area.

It turns out the male is currently on a probation order with a condition not attend any store located in a mall. The breach accompanied with the charges of theft and possession of stolen property will now have the male lodged in cells for the night before he is brought before a Justice tomorrow for a bail hearing.
