Date: Tuesday, April 29, 2014 – 6:00pm
On the 29th of April 2014 at approximately 6pm, police were called to a north end store regarding a female who was in custody for shoplifting by the stores loss prevention team. The 31 year old Barrie female had attempted to steal almost $500 worth of groceries and was subsequently apprehended.
Upon Police arrival, the investigating officer discovered that the female had lied to both the loss prevention and police regarding her identity. When her real identity was revealed it was discovered that the female was wanted on warrants in York Region for theft related charges, she was currently on release for theft and obstruct police related charges and she was on conditions from a probation that was related to a conviction of theft.
The fact that the female has shown no efforts to curb her stealing type ways, police arrested, charged and held the female pending a bail hearing.
The female was charged with Theft under $5000, Possession property obtained by crime, obstructing a police officer and failing to comply with her probation order.
The only thing the female will have an opportunity to steal tonight is a few hours of sleep on a concrete mattress in the cell block!!
