The WFP $1,000,000 Fix Wingham Contest

North Huron Council has agreed to hold a special Public meeting on

26Feb2015 at Town Hall, starting at 5pm. In part, this meeting

is for the Public to submit ideas and suggestions regarding the 2015

NH budget. The last budget meeting was catered with

sandwiches, coffee and pie, and there is no reason to expect

different at this meeting. If free coffee and pie isn’t enough

to entice you out of our homes and participate in our Democracy,

hopefully our new contest will be.

Thanks to the phenomenal success of The Wingham Free Press, we

pleased to announce The WFP $1,000,000 Fix Wingham Contest.

North Huron Council is amidst the budget process, and they now seem

receptive to Public input. Before you yell BS, please consider

what the Public has accomplished in the last four years. Our

Municipal Government has been dragged kicking and screaming into the

20th century by dedicated Winghamites and Bloggers that want to see

change and hope for the future. Before the WFP, North Huron

was stuck in the 90’s. North Huron’s online presence was at

least a decade behind, we didn’t have budgets, agenda packages,

press releases, tenders, Council meeting dates, Councillor

compensation, or even Councillor email addresses online.

Through various tactics, our minions” have accomplished what was

once deemed impossible.
