(PERTH COUNTY, ON) On Thursday November 14, 2013, between 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. ten motor vehicle/deer collisions were reported to the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Officers responded to the majority of these collisions while a few were called in by drivers due to the fact there was minimal damage. The locations of these incidents were spread throughout the county with the majority occurring at dawn or dusk. (Some did take place late at night while one happened in the middle of the day).
On Friday November 15, 2013 four deer collisions were investigated. One of these collisions resulted in the vehicle crashing into a ditch along Road 133 north of St.Marys. The 20 year old West Perth resident driving the vehicle swerved to miss a deer. She caused damage to her vehicle but was fortunate not to sustain injuries herself.
On Saturday November 16, 2013 three deer collisions were investigated, while on Sunday November 17, 2013 two motor vehicles sustained damage as a result of colliding with a deer.
Drivers are urged to watch but not veer for deer!
