Teeswater Found Bones Update

(TEESWATER, ON) – On August 6, 2015 at 1:36 p.m., the South Bruce detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of found bones at a property in the 1200 Block of Bruce County Road 6 in the village of Teeswater.

The South Bruce OPP, South Bruce OPP Crime unit and the OPP Forensic Identification unit investigated, under the direction of Detective Inspector Heidi Stewart of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), with the assistance of a forensic anthropologist.

The found bones have been determined to be historical in nature. Foul play is not suspected.

This is an isolated event; there is no threat to public safety.
