Taxes Going Up – Reduced Workload Nets Town Staff A 11.7% Pay Increase

Last year North Huron town staff wages/salaries & benefits
budget was $4,749,403.00.  Town staff work load has been
reduced dramatically by the introduction of swipe cards at the
complex, and offloading the management of the Trailer Park to the
Legion. This reduced work load has not saved the taxpayers one penny,
but resulted in raises for all town staff, at a whopping 11.7%
increase!

The Math

2012 wages/salaries & benefits budget was $4,749,403.00

2013 Draft Budget wages/salaries & benefits: 5,304,804.00

That is a $555,401 increase

($555,401/$4,749,403) * 100 = 11.7%
