The London Police Service want the public to be aware of a possible scam.
There are two reports recently where a female approached the victims in the the area of Wellington Road and Commissioners Road East, claiming that her vehicle was broken into while she stopped at a restaurant to eat.
The female advised the individuals that she drove from Tennessee and stopped in the City of London to grab something to eat. The woman alleged her vehicle was broken into and items stolen while she was in the restaurant. She asked the victims for money to assist her.
The suspect in this matter is described as a female, white, approximately 45 to 55 years of age, operating a black 4-door car with damage to the rear passenger side door, and the back window missing. The vehicle had Tennessee licence plates. (plate number is unknown.)
Both instances occurred in the early evening hours, approximately one week apart.
A similar scam is an individual advising that they locked their keys in their vehicle and need money to have a tow truck come and assist them or give them a boost.
