(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Robbery Unit has laid charges in connection to a recent swarming.
On September 9, 2013, at approximately 9:30 pm, a male victim was walking from the pedestrian overpass at the Blair Road transit station, near James Naismith Drive, when he encountered three males who then surrounded him. One of the suspects produced a large knife and a demand was made for the victim’s cellular phone. The victim was able to flee without injury. The suspects were located a short time later by OC Transpo Security and were arrested by Police without incident. There were no injuries.
One adult, Jordan MACDONALD, age 21 of Ottawa, and two young persons have all been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon. The adult appeared in court on September 10, 2013 and remains in custody. He appears by video remand on Sept. 11, 2013. One of the youths was released by Police and will appear in Youth Court on October 1, 2013. The remaining youth was previously wanted by Police on an unrelated matter and will appear in court on September 11, 2013.
