At approximately 8:35 a.m. on Monday, June 13 2016, London Police officers attended to Westervelt College at 1060 Wellington Road in relation to a suspicious package. Staff members at the school located a gym bag with what appeared to be a metal box with some exposed wires at the north/west corner of the building.
As a precaution, the school was evacuated and our Explosive Disposal Unit was brought out to the scene. The northbound lane of Wellington Road was closed down for a short period of time, but has since reopened. The Explosive Disposal Unit inspected the bag and interior contents and have since deemed them to be not suspicious. Police have cleared the area and wish to thank the public for their cooperation during this investigation.
