Suspicious Male Near School Watching Children – St. Marys

(ST.MARYS, ON) On Thursday November 27, 2014, shortly before 11 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to Holy Name of Mary School in St.Marys as a result of a suspicious male being observed near the school.

Investigation revealed that during morning recess a man appeared to be watching students on the school yard near the Grand Trunk Trail. As a school staff member walked towards the male immediately he left the area. The male did not make contact with students or get in close proximity to anyone.

Description of the male:

– Caucasian in his 20’s

– Medium build approx. 5’10” (178 cm) tall

– Medium brown hair, no facial hair

– Wearing blue jeans, black coat and black sweater

– Wore a blue tuque with yellow stripes

– May have been driving a light blue PT Cruiser style vehicle

Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate the male. The actions of the male near the school are not criminal in nature however the OPP would like to speak with him, to determine why he was there.
