(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Friday April 19, 2013, around 5:30 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) officers were called to a residence at 134 Waterloo St. in Mitchell where a small fire was discovered in the garage.
Investigation revealed that sometime shortly after 5 a.m. a fire had started in the garage of the home. A neighbour observed what appeared to be the glow of a fire in the garage and alerted the homeowners. The fire department was called but prior to their arrival the fire had been extinguished.
The Perth County O.P.P. is investigating the fire, as it appears suspicious in nature. The residence large garage door which had been closed the evening before was found half open by the neighbour who spotted the fire. Anyone having observed suspicious persons between 4:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. in the area of Waterloo, St. David and St. Andrew St., in Mitchell is urged to contact police.
